Papervision3D 2.0 training – New York City!
FINALLY – we’re making our way over to NYC with some Papervision goodness!
Dec 1st & 2nd with RMI user ‘Grden’ for a discount code good for 10% off
Both days will we’ll focus on Developing Papervision3D content. We’ll cover everything from scenes, cameras and models to the new Papervision3D 2.0 api with shaders, lights and new materials. We’ll cover interactivity and the CS3 Design time component as well as take a look at texture mapping and modeling in some 3D applications. You’ll get a balanced education on PV3D’s api and tools by the time we’re done with you.
Andy Zupko will be joining us for this 2 day 3D feast, and will be taking part of day 2 to cover shaders/lights/materials in 2.0
Is there a chance to see somebody (of the PV3D team) doing this in Europe ?
Hi John!
Just a question from the people from the other side of the planet, who will not be able to attend 😉
IS THERE ANY CHANCE THAT THERE WILL BE VIDEO/FILES/DOCUMENTATION OF THIS EVENT??
thanx
there is also a class scheduled for the OTHER side of the United States in February in San Francisco, CA:

Andy and I will be doing that shop together
i agree with fritz
you need to webcast 🙂
i cant wait for pv3d 2.0!!
I’m going to come to the San Francisco one, although first I’m trying to see if my employer might pay for it (hopefully they will).
Papervision 3D is rad.
Hi John,
While I wait to find out if my employer will pay for your SF class or not…
The examples are mainly EnterFrame animations and not Timer based ones. Is that what is basically recommended for most Papervision 3D animations?
Thanks in advance
There’s nothing implied 🙂
Some have said that using EnterFrame with a tween engine is slower for some reason. Most of the time, I use the Timer object as that allows me to throttle animations if I need to
hey john
i am too an eager PV3D developer from the other side of the planet (i.e a total different continent) are you planing sometime to deliver classes online (i am willing to pay ofcourse, as well as anyone here, i think)?
Quick question.. ive heard so much about papervision, but i yet had a chance to actually use it.. is the NY workshop for beginners? or i need some kind of experience already?
@otto: You don’t need to have PV3D experience. You need to be familiar with actionscript and Flash in general however, but we’ll go from the ground up so to speak. The classes are packed and we move at a fairly good pace so that we keep everyone interested throughout the 2 days
hope to see you there!
Thanks John, Sounds like a plan… Im there!
awesome! can’t wait man, we’ve got some new stuff we’re bringing to this class too that only the attendees will have access to until it’s officially released (no, not 2.0, that’ll be released ) – something we’ll blog about in a few days when we know for sure
I am signing up today. This comes out of my own pocket, so you should feel special!
TIM! dood that rocks man, it’ll be cool to meet you in NYC! This one’s gonna rock for sure. 2.0 goodness, Andy’s got some extra’s he’s putting together that’ll rock for sure (we’ll announce later this week)
\m/
John, thanks for the comments, but no metion of Europe or webcast/video options. Perhaps Carlos might help out over here???? (London)
@ian: i’m working on doing some web based sessions with RMI and I’ll definitely let everyone know where to find that when it’s ready
Thanks Ian!
is there one in SF sometime in the next couple of months?
